Dear Friends,

We are asking you to please forward these flyers to your football programs, baseball programs, cheer, band, other organizations, clubs, colleagues, friends and family, etc., as soon as possible. If you have received this email, it means you have either offered in the past to forward information or we were hoping you wouldn’t mind helping us spread the word. 

This Friday night we have the unique opportunity to come together as a community and help not only CJ Barron, but also another student in need, Kody Peraita.  Kody is a 16-year-old Ayala student who suffered a spinal cord injury Memorial Weekend while at the beach.  This injury has left him paralyzed from the neck down.  He is being treated at Project Walk, a non-profit organization internationally recognized in the treatment for individuals with spinal cord injuries.  Unfortunately, it is not covered by health insurance, so Kody’s friends have banded together to raise funds to help keep him at Project Walk and also to help in the expenses of making his house wheelchair accessible. 

Below is a list of the fundraising events being held on the boys’ behalf.  Information tables for both CJ & Kody will be set up on both sides of the field at Friday’s Battle of the Bone at Ayala High School.

CJ BarronThe Talent Factory will be holding a benefit concert on Saturday, October 22, at 11:00 am at Chino Hills High School, $10.  We will be selling tickets for the concert at the game on Friday.  We have attached the sponsor form for any businesses interested in sponsoring the event.  Also, we will be having vendors outside the event such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef and, of course, bling!!  If you have something to sell and would like to participate and set up a table, please email Michelle at thegardners@earthlink.net.  For more information on what you can do to help CJ, please visit our website, www.prayingforcarlos.blogspot.com.  Also, please visitwww.caringbridge.com/visit/carlosbarron to read updates on CJ’s progress posted by the Barron family.

 

Kody PeraitaAt Friday night’s game, Ayala Football boosters will be donating all 50/50 proceeds to help raise money for Kody to stay at Project Walk.  Ayala Boosters previously donated their first home game 50/50 proceeds to CJ Barron, so this will be their second donation this year. Please help support them in this great cause on Friday night!  Also, Team Kody (as Kody’s friends have named themselves!) has put together a golf tournament with all proceeds going to help Kody.  The Team Kody Golf Tournament is Friday, October 28^th at El Prado Golf Course.  Spots are filling up quick, so please register ASAP!  Registration forms can be sent to:  Team Kody, 2809 Longhorn St., Ontario, CA, 917617.  For more information about the golf tournament or what you can do to help Kody, please email Jerry atteamkodygolf@verizon.net or visit their facebook page, “Team Kody Golf Tournament.”

A Special Blessing From A Friend!

 I am enclosing the pictures I took for you on the last day of my pilgrimage in Milan, Italy. There are 3 photos: one shows the actual candle for Carlos, the other shows the context of where these candles are underneath an image of Mary, and the third shows the outside of the actual Duomo, which is the second largest Catholic cathedral in the world.

Mary gave us the gift of Christ and only Mary has the heart of a mother. You must rest in Mary's lap, in the fold of her garment, and allow yourself to rest there. God has seen you and knows your torment. "Behold your mother," he said to John, remember?  Place Carlos in her loving arms. Rest in her love.  She knows. Here is a prayer I love.

Car Wash- Ford Dealership- Saturday September 24th 8am-1pm

Dear Friends,

We are having this Saturday, September 24th, at Chino Hills Ford from 8am to 1pm on behalf of CJ Barron.  Please note that we changed the location of the car wash from Chino Hills High School to the Ford dealership due to us not getting district approval to use the school grounds. 

We are asking you to please forward this flyer as soon as possible because of the late notice to your football programs, cheer, band, other organizations, clubs, colleagues, friends and family as soon as possible. Car Wash Postponed

Dear Friends,

We were unable to get district approval to use the school facility this Saturday, September 10th. We are rescheduling it for Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 8am to 1pm. We will announce the location on Sept. 19, 2011

We would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of support you have shown over the past two weeks.  From the outpouring of support of anonymous donors at each of our donation drop-off locations, to the entire Chino Hills Jr. All American Football program and their support, the CHJAAF Cheerleaders donating their bake sale proceeds, the Husky Football Boosters donating the Opportunity Drawing proceeds at our first home game (and to the anonymous donor who matched those funds!), to Coach Bub and the entire Husky Football program, players and parents, Husky football alumni and their families, the CHHS Boosters, CHHS Key Club, CHHS Cheerleaders,  the Ayala Football program including their boosters for setting up a donation booth at their football game, and also local businesses, such as Roscoes, who stepped up during the Barron Family’s time of need.  There was also a special mass held at the St. Paul the Apostle Church.

Fundraising for Carlos "CJ" Barron

One of Our Own families is in need of your help. Carlos “CJ” Barron fell approximately 30-35’ while at work on 8/21/2011 and is suffering from severe head trauma. He is currently in a coma at Loma Linda Medical Center.

Carlos is a CHHS class of 2010 graduate. He has played CHJAAF since 2000 and played all four years of high school football. He is also currently in his first year of Coaching CHJAAF. Carlos is young and strong and we believe he will be healed.

However this is going to be a journey for him and his family and as you can imagine a financial strain.
To lessen the worries of the family the community, his family, football family, friends, and strangers are coming together to fundraise for this amazing family.

We are asking you for a donation to help Our family in need. Your donation in any amount, restaurant and/or gas gift cards is greatly appreciated.We will collect on the following days:
